Ol Doinyo Lengai - The Sacred Mountain of God
Rising to 2,960 meters (9,711 feet) above the Rift Valley floor, Ol Doinyo Lengai is an active volcano sacred to the Maasai people. It is the only volcano in the world that erupts natrocarbonatite lava - a unique black lava that cools to a whitish color.
